How can two beings
speak in the same tongue
and still
misunderstand each word so wildly
How can you not see the potential
running through my veins
the
gold secreting from my palms
The flowers that
grow in my footsteps, full of pollen and
juicy honeydew
How can you be so blind to the
oceans
in my eyes
Honey dripping from my lips
golden wildflowers
taste so sweet on your tongue that
you take but you don’t give
You forgot that sweat and salt still drip from my pores
There are many of me
except
one of me cannot breathe anymore
Another me watches as I pour out my insides only
for my fingers to capture what I can of what is left
and
shove it back down into my lungs
To crystallize in my throat
and numb my mouth until I forget
what honey tastes like
